History of Moon-Modular

The idea of MOON MODULAR was created by electronic musicians Udo Hanten and Albin Meskes from the band YOU in 2002. It took several years to become a professional project when Gert Jalass took over in April 2008.

The first module was released in the summer of 2008 and led to an extensive series of pro synthesizer modules until Gert's sudden death in May 2024.

MOON MODULAR and SYNTH-WERK are connected by a long-standing collaboration and an intensive exchange about our shared love for the 5U modular format.

We were soon working together on large systems and also gained many mutual customers. MOON and SYNTH-WERK were a good fit from the very beginning. We consider it both our duty and an honor to continue the life's work of our friend Gert.
